Why doubt it? Because there isn't actually any conclusive evidence to believe in it. Not just one individual from the localization group has said a word about it.
It'd be like me saying that Cranston is called after Bryan Cranston because Breaking Bad was in the peak of its popularity when New Leaf came out.
I'm fine with the enthusiast theory it only annoys me when people go past that and assert it as fact, or go even further beyond and start stating things which are actually untrue, such as how the person I responded to promised Audie began with Audie.
